Responsibilities
This position is part of twenty-four (24) hours, seven (7) days a week AOG unit responsible for the procurement and distribution of aircraft materials, parts, equipment, and supplies. Process purchase orders for Aircraft and Engine parts in support of Spirit’s fleet requirements; including but not limited to: AOG(s), DMI(s), RIN, MWI, Scheduled Maintenance Events, Engineering Orders, etc.
Solicit and evaluate proposals for the requested commodities.
Negotiate pricing for goods and services to ensure purchases are cost competitive.
- This position has direct communication with Maintenance Control and Material Ops regarding critical and AOG purchase orders and parts movement status.
- Ensures timely follow up of open AOG orders to ensure operational requirements are being met.
- Provide part status movement, alternative plans and other material issues as required.
- Provide inventory recommendations to Material Planning team.
- This is accomplished by working within the TRAX database and having a working knowledge of Illustrated Parts Catalog, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and Engineering Orders to ensure components ordered meet maintenance requirements.
- In depth understanding of ERP systems such as TRAX.
- Knowledgeable on submitting and tracking purchase orders to approved suppliers.
- Broad understanding of current contracts and how they apply to specific manufacturer parts.
- Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, and shipping notices.
- Evaluate vendors prices, quality, service and customer support availability, reliability and selection.
- Communicate findings internally and externally, to the AOG Supervisor.
- Negotiate reductions based on the analysis of quotes.
- Coordinate receipt of drop shipments with Maintenance Control. Coordinate the return of parts, Tools shipped to contract Maintenance station, with Material Ops assigned personnel.
- Prepare reports and review summary invoices for accuracy in order to correct discrepancies and ensure payment terms are met including charter aircraft and transportation invoices.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years' experience
- Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong Capabilities in negotiation and establishment to terms and conditions of Purchase Orders
- Strong analytical abilities, presentation and organizational skills
- Works under minimal supervision/direction
- Ability to handle multiple time sensitive tasks and perform in stressful environment
- Must have a thorough working knowledge of TRAX, sap, Illustrated Parts Catalog, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and Engineering Orders to ensure components ordered meet maintenance requirements and corporate procurement policies
- Must have strong experience in the entire Microsoft Application library
- Domestic & International travel under 10% of time
- Exert up to 50lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects
- Must be present at the Worksite 100% of time
