DEVELOPMENT CNC MACHINIST (STARLINK) - LEVEL 4/5
At SpaceX we’re leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world’s largest satellite constellation and is providing fast, reliable internet to 10M+ users worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system – thousands of satellites, consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that brings it all together. We’ve only begun to scratch the surface of Starlink’s potential global impact and are looking for best-in-class CNC Machinists to help maximize Starlink’s utility for communities and businesses around the globe.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for setting up, operating multi-axis CNC machines (mills and lathes) up to and including 5 Axis mills and 6 axis lathes

Must be proficient at all types of drilling, tapping and milling and turning
-
Must be able to complete machining operations from blueprints, drawings and/or verbal instructions

Must have experience with complex, tight tolerance parts and various materials
-
Material prep, deburring parts, hauling chips, oiling machines, sweeping up and initiating or assisting in organizational tasks
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
-
High School diploma or GED
-
10+ years of experience in set up, operation and programming of CNC Mill/lathe machines
-
G-code experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Short run, prototype, non-production machining experience
-
Horizontal Mill experience
-
Programming experience
-
Experience running lathes + live tooling
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
-
Ability to read and work off of a blueprint
-
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
-
Able to lift a minimum of 40lbs. unassisted
-
Able to stand for extended periods- 8 hours min
-
Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces
-
Repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Starlink Development CNC Machinist/Level 4: $38.00 - $45.00/hour
Starlink Development CNC Machinist/Level 5: $43.00 - $52.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Non-exempt Washington employees are eligible for sick leave in accordance with Washington's Sick Leave policies.
