CAD ENGINEER (STARLINK/AKOUSTIS)

Akoustis is now operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of SpaceX, providing industry leading RF filters using patented XBAW technology to help drive the mission of making human life multi-planetary and connecting the world through Starlink. We design, build, launch, and operate the world's largest constellation of satellites, enabling us to operate a global internet network unbounded by traditional ground infrastructure limitations. The root of SpaceX’s success so far lies in our mission to keep all engineering and production in-house, which enables a tight feedback loop, nimble decision-making, and speedy deliverables. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create custom device layouts in Cadence’s AWR, balancing the needs of filter design and fabrication engineers to fit competitive designs into small footprints with aggressive design rules

• Manage design rules for multiple BAW processes, proposing changes as needed to meet challenging new developments

• Troubleshoot and update new automation tools to maintain design integrity while maximizing layout efficiency

• Layout experimental designs with device team for new process development

• Create and verify manufacturing test maps and plans

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline

• 2+ years of experience with CAD layout

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency in Cadence or similar CAD tool

• Demonstrated understanding of computers and programming languages (preferred Python)

• Understanding of semiconductor processes and structures, like BAW filters, capacitors, resistors etc.

• Experience in using LVS/DRC tools to make layout updates

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet critical milestones
