The Role

We are seeking a Senior Staff Product Designer to join the Crypto team. So Fi is growing the design team to develop crypto products and services for our 11M+ members, expanding our product offerings with intuitive, secure, and fully featured products for buying, sending, spending, and securely holding crypto.

As a Senior Staff Designer, it will be your responsibility to architect the future of our Crypto platform, driving 0–1 initiatives that demystify blockchain technology and foster mainstream adoption. You will set a high bar for design excellence, collaborating with engineering and stakeholders to navigate complex technical and regulatory landscapes. Additionally, you will bring cohesion across the So Fi ecosystem by dissolving the boundaries between traditional banking and digital assets, creating a seamless experience where members can intuitively manage their entire financial portfolio.

At this level, you’ll also have considerable responsibility to help grow and mature the design organization at large. This includes coordinating designers across product areas to align the larger So Fi ecosystem and acting as mentor to various designers in the organization.

What You'll Do

• 0-to-1 Crypto Product Leadership: Lead the design lifecycle for complex, high-impact crypto features across mobile and web, taking projects from ambiguous concepts to final launch to power the next generation of financial experiences.

• Strategic Roadmap Definition: Partner with Product, Content, Data Science, Engineering, and Research to create well-articulated experiment plans and shape the strategic roadmap for the Crypto business unit.

• Designing for Trust & Security: Incorporate data insights and user research to craft solutions that not only delight customers but establish deep trust in our wallet, exchange, and security features.

• Technical Mastery & Prototyping: Rapidly produce concepts ranging from low-fi sketches to pixel-perfect prototypes, navigating technical system constraints to make complex blockchain interactions feel simple and secure.

• Organizational Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a mentor and standard-bearer within the design organization, coordinating across product areas to align the larger So Fi ecosystem and helping to grow and mature the design culture.

• Iterative Execution: Collaborate closely with design managers and cross-functional partners to iterate quickly based on feedback, ensuring legal, compliance, and industry best practices are met in a fast-moving regulatory environment.

• Design Communication: Present design concepts and clearly communicate design intent and rationale through comprehensive design specs and compelling presentations to executive stakeholders.

• Design Systems & Scalability: Work with established design systems to ensure consistency and scalability while contributing to their evolution as specific Crypto product experiences change and grow.

What You'll Need

• 12+ yrs experience of experience working in product design/UX roles

• Strong design point of view, craft and aesthetics across all common platforms (Android, iOS, & Responsive Web)

• Track record for leadership -- delivering end to end solutions from initial concepts to measurable outcomes

• Strong collaboration & influence skills across cross-functional teams including research, product management, engineering and marketing

• Ability to leverage user research, user needs and product data to inform product definition and design solutions.

• Ability to navigate and manage senior leadership, representing design perspective and advocating for user needs in the context of business and technology drivers

• Strong expertise in common design tools (ie Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, In Vision, etc)

• Experience working in an Agile development environment using tools like Jira and Confluence

• A portfolio URL or PDF to submit with application with examples of mobile and responsive web product design

Even Better

• Crypto/Web3 Native: Personal or professional experience with crypto wallets, exchanges, or De Fi protocols. You understand the difference between custody and self-custody.

• Motion Design: Ability to use motion to guide users and create moments of delight in the UI.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
