The Role:
The Solution Engineering Manager for Commercial, ASEAN will lead and scale the SE team across high-growth markets in the region. Working hand-in-hand with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing, this leader will be responsible for driving technical wins at scale, building customer trust with startups and digital-native companies, and developing a high-performing team of Solution Engineers.
This role requires a player-coach who can navigate diverse, high-velocity markets - from rapid-growth technology firms and digital-native companies, to SMBs modernizing their data stack, to tech-forward enterprises across the region. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise across cloud data architecture, modern ELT pipelines, AI/ML, and analytics, combined with the ability to run a high-volume sales motion and translate rapid-growth customer challenges into compelling Snowflake solutions.
The person we are looking for is passionate about scaling teams and markets. This means running a high-volume motion while still rolling up your sleeves for strategic deals, coaching SEs through fast-turnaround proof-of-concepts, and representing Snowflake at meetups, startup events, and executive briefings across the region.
What You Will Do:

Lead & Develop the SE Team: Recruit, mentor, and grow a team of Solution Engineers across the Commercial team, ASEAN.

Create a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Drive Technical Wins: Partner with Sales to qualify opportunities, lead technical discovery, architect solutions, and execute proof-of-concepts that demonstrate Snowflake's value for diverse use cases - from data warehouse modernization to AI/ML workloads.

Customer & Executive Engagement: Present Snowflake's technology and vision to C-level executives and technical stakeholders.

Build trusted advisor relationships with key accounts across telco, financial services, retail, and manufacturing verticals.

Competitive Positioning: Maintain deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies (e.g., legacy data warehouses, cloud-native alternatives, local players) and effectively position Snowflake across different customer contexts.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to provide market feedback, shape regional go-to-market strategies, and continuously improve our products and messaging for Southeast Asian markets.

Market Development: Evangelize Snowflake within Indonesia, Philippines, and Thailand through participation in local marketing events, customer roundtables, partner engagements, and speaking opportunities.

Partner Ecosystem: Build strong technical relationships with regional SI partners and cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) to drive joint customer success and market expansion.
What You Will Bring:

10+ years of experience in customer-facing pre-sales or solution architecture roles

4+ years of experience managing and developing pre-sales teams
-
Outstanding presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences
-
Deep understanding of the data analytics stack - from data ingestion and ETL to data platform design, BI, and advanced analytics
-
Strong expertise in cloud data platforms, SQL, and large-scale data processing
-
Proven track record building go-to-market alignment with sales and partner leadership
-
Willingness to travel across Indonesia, Philippines, and Thailand (approximately 50%)
Strongly Desired:

Experience selling data, analytics, or AI solutions to enterprise customers in Southeast Asia

Hands-on knowledge of modern data technologies: Snowflake, Spark, Kafka, dbt, Airflow, or similar

Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and concepts
-
LLMs, vector databases, ML pipelines, MLOps
-
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code practices
-
Software development or scripting experience (Python, SQL, Java, or similar)
-
Understanding of local market dynamics, startup ecosystems, and commercial buying behaviors across ASEAN
-
University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
