Snowflake is about empowering enterprises to achieve their full potential — and people too. With a culture that’s all in on impact, innovation, and collaboration, Snowflake is the sweet spot for building big, moving fast, and taking technology — and careers — to the next level.
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our core Analytics team, focusing on the SQL Query Language. This role will shape the evolution of Snowflake SQL itself—its syntax, semantics, expressiveness, and developer experience. Snowflake customers rely on SQL as their primary interface, and the language is foundational to nearly every workload. This is a critical, high-visibility role for a product leader who truly loves SQL and wants to advance it as a modern, elegant, and powerful language.
You will be responsible for defining the vision and roadmap for Snowflake’s SQL language, and for guiding the introduction of new constructs, refinements, and developer-facing capabilities. To succeed in this role, you need to be an experienced product thinker who is passionate about taking SQL to the next level. You must be comfortable working closely with developers, analysts and language engineers to come up with the next set of SQL delighters.
AS A SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER AT SNOWFLAKE YOU WILL:
-
Be the single-threaded owner for the end-to-end lifecycle of Snowflake SQL language development—responsible for a critical product area. Your mandate is to define the future vision, and ensure meticulous execution across all dependencies with relentless urgency and high ownership.
-
Define and execute the roadmap for new SQL Language features, including syntax enhancements, semantic improvements, and extensions that increase expressiveness and usability. Help define how the SQL language evolves to support agentic GenAI-tools and applications
-
Own the developer experience of writing SQL in Snowflake, ensuring the language evolves, is powerful, intuitive, consistent, and elegant.
-
Conduct continuous customer and competitive research to identify gaps and opportunities in SQL ergonomics, clarity, standards alignment, and language evolution.
-
Lead effectively across functions and orgs, building deep trust with engineering and design partners to unblock dependencies, rally teams through setbacks, and ensure a successful launch.
-
Communicate the strategy and status of your area concisely and clearly to stakeholders and senior leadership.
-
Be the external face of the Snowlfake SQL Language, engaging with customers, partners, and the broader community (e.g., at events like Snowflake Summit).
OUR IDEAL SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER WILL HAVE:
-
Strong technical product management experience:
-
7+ years of experience in product management, or appropriate experience as an engineer working in SQL or query language area.
-
5+ years of experience with data analytics, databases, or distributed systems, A strong understanding of the AI data platform landscape
-
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar
-
High-judgment product design skills. You have a strong point of view on what makes a great user experience and the ability to guide the team toward it.
-
A "shipping" obsession with a bias for action. You make fast, high-quality decisions, and collaborate across teams to solve problems quickly.
-
High ownership and resilience, low ego. You own outcomes, good or bad. You actively seek critical feedback, galvanize your team, and know when to disagree and commit. You actively seek critical feedback from senior leaders.
-
The ability to Lead and Push Back. You must be comfortable with conflict and have the wisdom to challenge long-standing engineering, product, or business assumptions to drive the right customer outcomes.
-
Excellent “championing” skills. You are a highly effective cross-functional leader with a track record of building trust with engineering and design partners, and aligning skeptical teams around a compelling vision. You work with other teams across Snowflake to improve our developer experience.
-
A passion for tackling challenging problems in a rapidly evolving company and industry.
-
A track record of shipping successful, high-impact features leveraging GenAI, or using GenAI tools to significantly accelerate your own PM workflows.
BONUS POINTS FOR EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING:
-
Experience with language tooling, parsers, compilers, or query planners as an engineer or product manager.
-
Familiarity with the SQL ecosystems across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
-
Contributing to SQL dialect design or standards processes.
