We are seeking an experienced tax professional to join our growing Tax team as an Indirect Tax Accountant based in Costa Rica. The Tax Accountant will manage US and Canadian indirect tax compliance, playing a key ownership role in compliance, account reconciliations, and process improvement. This role reports to the Indirect Tax Manager based in Bellevue, WA.
This role is eligible for remote work within Costa Rica. You must reside in Costa Rica.
You Will

Assist with the preparation of indirect tax returns, including US sales and use tax and Canadian HST and PST

Maintain the indirect tax calendar to ensure all returns and payments are filed on time

Prepare account reconciliations and/or journal entries for tax related general ledger accounts

Support the approval process and organization of multi-state sales tax exemption certificates

Maintain documentation regarding internal tax processes

Identify and implement process improvement initiatives

Assist with ad hoc tax projects and planning initiatives as required
You Have
-
3+ years of tax, accounting, or finance experience in a public accounting firm or equivalent experience in a large multinational corporation

Post-secondary degree (i.e., Bachelor’s degree) in Accounting or Finance is a plus but is not required; relevant practical experience will be prioritized.

Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Excel, Word)

Experience with Net Suite, Salesforce, and Stripe is a plus

Detail oriented, analytical and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Advanced English proficiency required for daily interaction with US-based team
