What We are Looking For?

Silicon Labs is seeking an experienced validation engineer to join the IoT MCU Validation team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented system level engineer with a solid understanding of low power MCU architectures in terms of digital and analog/RF aspects. The position also requires software proficiency at Python scripting and firmware levels, experience in board level hardware design and familiarity with test instrumentation, measurement techniques and tests automation.

Skills you’ll need:

  • Test cases specification, architecture definition and implementation

  • Test data management, analysis and presentation

  • Participate in debug sessions and provide measurement data for root cause analysis

  • Infrastructure development for our automated silicon characterization platform which consist of hardware, device/instruments drivers, software toolchains, frameworks, libraries and databases

  • FPGA prototyping and pre-silicon validation

  • Assimilate and develop work processes to scale efficiently and ensure high product quality

  • Help recruit and mentor junior engineers and interns

  • Technical documentation authoring

  • Participate in cross functional technical reviews

  • Technical lead for selected projects

  • Partner and customer interaction

Required Experience & Skills:

  • B.S or M.Sc. in Electrical or Computer Engineering

  • Proven software development and architecture skills (Python, C# or similar)

  • Proven firmware development skills (C and/or assembly language)

  • Strong analog and digital circuit analysis skills

  • Excellent troubleshooting and debug skills

  • Extensive hands-on experience with test and measurement equipment and measurement techniques

  • Working knowledge of ARM/8051 architectures and typical MCU peripherals

  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and sense of accountability

Experience with schematics capture and layout tools (Allegro/Altium/PADS)

  • Exposure to security standards and security testing

  • Methodical, thorough and dedicated to quality

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Entrepreneurial and problem solver

  • Team player
