About the Role

We are seeking in the locations Marsta (Sweden), Kirchlengern (Germany) or Bolton (United Kingdom) an **Area Controller EMEAI (m/f/d)**for our Industrial Wood coatings North industry to provide financial leadership across multiple manufacturing facilities within the EMEAI region. Locations:

In this key role, you will ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting, maintain robust internal controls, and lead comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision‑making.

Your scope covers all financial aspects of site production activity, including raw materials, conversions, finished goods, variance analysis, capital acquisition requests (ROI), spending tracking, budgeting, and freight analysis.

You will collaborate closely with site operations, regional leadership, and enterprise finance to drive excellence across safety, quality, people, service, cost, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or Master´s degree and/or CPA/CMA certification
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance or accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience creating financial models, spreadsheets, and graphs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects, managing issues, and driving collaboration with cross‑functional teams in a matrix organisation
  • Prior experience with budgeting processes and financial systems (One Stream, Oracle).
  • Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with scenario modeling and strategic financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Financial Reporting & Controls

  • Oversee the monthly close process for all manufacturing sites within your scope.
  • Validate and review General Ledger entries according to the Enterprise Finance R&C monthly close calendar.
  • Ensure strong processes and internal controls for tracking and reporting site financial performance.

Business Partnership

  • Act as liaison between GSC Field Finance, plant operations, and regional management to support cost and productivity initiatives.
  • Develop and coach Field Finance personnel to strengthen financial and operational acumen.
  • Partner with the Field Support Team and Plant Management to prepare monthly P&L variance reconciliations and present results during monthly operating reviews.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support the development of annual operating, S&E, and capital budgets for multiple production facilities.
  • Work closely with Plant Managers, the Area Director of Operations, and the Field Finance Support organization to deliver accurate, timely budgets for review and approval by regional leadership.

Cost & Capital Analysis

  • Assist sites in performing annual physical inventory.
  • Support the development, review, and preparation of cost improvement projects.
  • Provide variance insights and guide managers to reduce unfavorable variances.
  • Prepare or review ROI analyses for capital projects and contribute to the annual capital plan.

Continuous Improvement & CAPEX Tracking

  • Collaborate with Continuous Improvement resources and Project Leads to deliver OP‑16 savings and Schedule G execution.
  • Organize and report CAPEX spending for assigned sites in partnership with project managers and Enterprise Capital Planning.
  • Lead or support special projects as required.
