What’s the role
The SC Procurement Analyst is a key member of the Source-to-Pay (S2P) team, accountable for managing the end‑to‑end S2P process—from demand assessment and purchase order execution to monitoring contract‑related activities through to payment. The role supports Mobility, Global Lubricants, Trading & Supply, Power, Low Carbon Solutions, Global Functions, and IDT (Information and Digital Technology.
The SC Procurement Analyst ensures that buying channels and sourcing strategies are aligned with business priorities through regular collaboration with stakeholders and suppliers. The role also manages third‑party tail‑end spend by simplifying processes, consolidating demand, selecting the appropriate buying channels, preventing value leakage, and developing sourcing strategies that enhance Shell’s buying power and optimize overall third‑party expenditure.
What you’ll be doing
- S2P Process and Digital Expertise- Apply the S2P process, tools, and systems effectively to ensure the appropriate use of buying channels. Conduct analyses to identify process gaps and emerging issues, recommend solutions, and lead or support their implementation.
- Gatekeeper of Shell’s Third‑Party Spend- Provide commercial and S2P guidance to stakeholders, ensuring adherence to S2P standards and Shell Group CMCP processes.
- Link Between Strategic and Operational Sourcing- Ensure that high‑value and repetitive purchase orders are raised correctly. Partner with stakeholders to deliver consistent operational procurement support and advice.
- ERP/SAP Super User- Serve as a subject matter expert by addressing system-related queries, facilitating training, supporting process and IT changes, and raising enhancement requests.
- Continuous Improvement and Commercial Optimization-Identify inefficiencies and opportunities within third‑party spend. Support the development and execution of improvement initiatives and action plans.
- Delivery of Group KPIs-Achieve targets related to on‑time payments, PO compliance, and PO automation.
- Assurance and Compliance- Ensure strict adherence to key red-thread controls, safeguarding Shell’s license to operate and maintaining zero tolerance for critical risks.
- Business Interface and Stakeholder Management- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to address opportunities and resolve issues promptly. Establish preventive measures to avoid recurrence and strengthen process discipline.
- Analyse, identify, and drive continuous improvement and commercial opportunities within tail-end spend while balancing day‑to‑day operational responsibilities.
- Provide support across multiple businesses, functions, and ERP systems, requiring strong stakeholder engagement and adaptability.
- Manage diverse internal and external interfaces—across varying seniority levels—including Business Stakeholders, CP teams, Accounts Payable, suppliers, and contractors, demanding exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
