Job Summary

Directly support the Construction, Preconstruction and Procurement functions and generally support the larger Development team. Oversee & report on capital spending related to new Shack openings. The Construction Finance Manager will facilitate all budget accruals and forecasting for the Construction Team by working directly with the Construction Project Managers. They will partner with representatives from Development, Design, Procurement, and IT to ensure accurate reporting, consolidate budget information and create reports for analysis. Through their involvement in construction change order management they will look for and establish themes in spending that can then be applied to effect change in design and/or process. Support the preconstruction estimating function. Create and manage a report that tracks and records PSA and FSA budgets, costs to complete and cost comparisons. Qualify and onboard new contractors, maintain a database that tracks active GC’s, approval status, markets, fees, etc. This position may grow and expand to support other initiatives as the team’s needs evolves. Seeking a candidate who is flexible, proactive and can manage professionally through change and uncertainty.

Job Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Interface with accounting for construction accruals and forecasting related to NSO capital spending

  • Compile, review and analyze construction change order reports to identify themes in spending that could effect change in design and/or process

  • Partner with Development, Design, Strategy, Supply Chain & IT to ensure accurate budgeting and reporting on spending and forecasting

  • Work with the RE team to create and update reporting on NSO capital project spending

  • Partner with Accounting to create and implement a process for auditing and reconciling capital costs prior to project closeout

  • Host project post mortems to review performance against budget goals and to rate GC’s, consultants and vendors

  • Qualify and onboard new contractors. Track, manage and update GC database

  • Regularly review change order contingencies with CPM’s and update forecasted spending

  • Identify the need for, initiate and implement standardization and applicable process improvements

  • Record, track and lead conversations around historical cost analytics

Related Experience

Construction and/or Financial Management in a Restaurant Environment preferred
