What you get to do in this role:

  • Manage product development activities in a high-paced environment.
  • Work closely with product management, design, support and other dev teams to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the development team
  • Use critical thinking skills to solve difficult and sometimes ambiguous problems
  • Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team
  • Help building the best user interface and user experience capabilities for the end users.
  • Have a strong understanding of business functionality and problems and ensures that the systems are built with the best design and features that scale and perform well.
  • Help planning projects with effort estimates, timelines, resourcings.
  • Help support the existing applications (hosted on the internal instance datacenter) when it comes to upgrades, incidents and enhancement request.
  • Guide and coach the team on right coding standards and best testing strategies to deliver quality applications.
  • Visualize the strategy to achieve the long-term roadmap and provide suggestions to the leadership on how we could better achieve the goals.
  • Build career path for the team by working closely with the engineers to understand their personal goals and coaching them on how they can excel in their role. Build a trusted relationship with the team.
  • Build a strong relationship with cross functional teams which work in conjunction with partners and help assess any impact due to cross functional initiatives.
  • Build strong relationship with the business teams to provide them the support and adequate technical direction and guidance as needed

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
  • Over 10 years of experience working with technologies in an enterprise software company, demonstrating advanced coding skills and consistently delivering high-quality results through team management and leadership.
  • Supervises experienced professional employees, who require little oversight in completing assigned work, providing oversight and approval when appropriate
  • Influences and provides guidance to employees outside of their area of expertise, around policies, practices and procedures.
  • Provides direction, delegation of assignments, and support to accomplish tasks with their team Strong hands-on experience with open-source tools and agile development environments.
  • Fluency in one or more relevant programming language (Java, C++, Ruby. Shell, JavaScript) and relational databases like SQL, DB2, Oracle
  • Able to articulate broad concepts and use those concepts to understand and develop solutions for problems.
  • Ability to plan and execute a project based on organization priorities, context, risks and desired outcomes.
  • Strong ability to exercise discretion and judgment of best practices and coding standards pertaining to various role specific requirements (e.g. programming languages and tools, network design, functional design, algorithms, patterns, design and development, etc.).
  • Should be a developer at heart and loves solving complex design problems and is willing to step up to do some hands-on coding when required.
  • Had experience working with integration Webservices like REST and SOAP using JSON and XML payload formats..
  • Excellent written, presentation and communication skills.
  • Enjoys mentoring and coaching the team to achieve career goals.
