Scripps Green Hospital is attached to Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines. Together we offer dozens of medical and surgical services, including cancer care, orthopedic surgery and organ transplantation.

This is a Full-Time (64 hours per pay period) position working 4 8-hour shifts during the week. Position does not require weekends or holidays.Located at Scripps Green Hospital in Torrey Pines, La Jolla.

We invite you to join our highly collaborative team of Quality Coordinator Nurses who take a multidisciplinary approach to our patient care working alongside our case managers, inpatient managers, and physicians.

The Quality Coordinator, RN manages publicly reported and other significant quality measures and performance improvement in collaboration with administrative, clinical and physician leadership for their assigned service line. In addition, you will be responsible for:

• Conducts review and trend analysis of adverse events using tools such as root cause analysis and other quality improvement methodologies.
• Performs concurrent review of medical records for clinical indicators based on established definitions and provides real time feedback and intervention with clinical staff and physicians to ensure optimal quality patient care.

· Additionally, this RN position abstracts records based on established indicators of the medical staff for peer review for assigned populations; facilitates the peer review process, ongoing physician performance review and decision support for medical staff reappointment.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

· Minimum of 5 years direct patient care experience within the last 10 years OR currently holding a coordinator/leadership level role within an acute care setting.

· Requires attention to detail, analytical skills, excellent communication skills and intermediate computer skills.

· Previous experience in quality improvement methods and tools required.

· Knowledge of Core Measures or other publicly reported quality metrics required.

Required Certification/Registration:

· CA RN License.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

· Training and application of MIDAS or like-data based strongly preferred.

· Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.

· Familiarity with Joint Commission standards as they relate to Performance Improvement and/or Medical Staff Quality/Peer review strongly preferred.

• Experience with Scripps’ management system and/or lean management preferred.
• Experience in quality/risk management/regulatory in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience with data analysis preferred.
• CPHQ preferred.
• CPHRM preferred.

Position Pay Range: $59.81-$86.71/hour
