Job Summary The Warehouse Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading all warehouse operations during the assigned shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate material flow in support of the Prefab Modular Data Center manufacturing environment.
The role involves supervising a team of warehouse associates and material handlers, maintaining inventory accuracy, enforcing safety and quality standards, and coordinating closely with production, planning, and logistics teams.
The ideal candidate thrives in a high-mix, low-volume environment and demonstrates strong leadership and problem‑solving capabilities.
Key Responsibilities Shift Operations & Inventory Control Lead all warehouse activities for the assigned shift:
Goods receipt Put-away Storage and material handling Picking, kitting, and staging Outbound preparation and dispatch Ensure real-time accuracy of inventory transactions in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).
Conduct shift-based cycle counts and support root-cause analysis for discrepancies.
Handle and store sensitive electrical and mechanical components safely and accurately.
Team Leadership & Development Supervise warehouse operators, material handlers, and forklift/crane operators during the shift.
Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure performance meets shift KPIs.
Provide on-the-job coaching to enhance operator skill and efficiency.
Foster a shift culture of teamwork, discipline, and safety consciousness.
Support onboarding and skill-building for new team members.
Safety, Quality & Compliance Enforce safety protocols, including PPE usage, LOTO procedures, forklift safety, and ergonomic practices.
Conduct routine safety checks, report incidents/near misses, and support corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with ISO standards, quality procedures, and Schneider Production System (SPS) guidelines.
Maintain 5S and housekeeping standards across warehouse zones.
Coordination & Communication Coordinate material flow with Production Supervisors, Planning, Procurement, and Logistics teams to meet delivery schedules.
Ensure proper shift handover with clear communication on pending tasks, issues, and priority orders.
Communicate material shortages, quality issues, or delays promptly to Warehouse Manager and cross-functional teams.
Support outbound logistics, packaging, and dispatch planning as needed.
Process Improvement & Lean Performance Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement programs within warehouse operations.
Drive 5S, visual management, and standard work across shift activities.
Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements to enhance productivity and reduce operational waste.
Contribute to SPS initiatives and performance enhancement projects.
Preferred Skills:
Experience: in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing or modular construction environments.
Hands-on experience with forklifts, pallet trucks, overhead cranes (license preferred).
Familiarity with warehouse automation, barcode scanners, and digital material flow tools.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask under time-sensitive conditions.
Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field. 3 years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP or Oracle preferred).
Strong organizational, communication, and people management skills.
Understanding of Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
Flexibility to work rotational shifts and handle dynamic operational demands.
