The Team Lead provides daily leadership and first-line support to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
This role supports the supervisor by coordinating workflow, resolving issues in real time, reinforcing standardized work, driving continuous improvement, and developing team capability.
The Team Lead may perform production tasks, training, or lead the team in the supervisor’s absence.
Shift: 3rd shift (10:30p-7a) Key Responsibilities Promote and enforce safety rules, PPE use, and ergonomic best practices.
Act as a Safety Champion; respond to and address safety issues and Andon calls.
Support 5S, workplace organization, and safe behaviors through daily coaching and audits.
Provide first-line support for operators; respond quickly to abnormalities and workflow disruptions.
Organize and prioritize jobs to meet takt time, throughput, and production/warehouse goals.
Cover absences/breaks and perform team jobs when needed.
Coordinate job rotation to build flexibility and reduce strain.
Audit and coach adherence to standardized work; address issues immediately.
Ensure materials, tools, diagrams, and instructions are available and accurate.
Verify product and process quality; stop defects and support root‑cause analysis.
Respond to Andon for safety, quality, and delivery issues; stabilize and escalate as needed.
Lead real‑time containment and verification (Built‑In Quality).
Support Kaizen, SPS initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
Participate in SIM meetings and daily huddles.
Train team members; maintain skills matrices and required certifications.
Communicate work instructions clearly and provide coaching and feedback.
Share production needs, metrics, and barriers with supervisors and next‑shift leaders.
Use required systems (SAP, LDS, DiSS, Microsoft Office, BOMs, ship list, etc.).
Collaborate with other departments Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior leadership or team lead experience within Schneider Electric required Must be in a Team Lead, Tech IV or Training role currently Ability to read/interpret diagrams, schedules, BOMs, and work instructions.
Familiarity with SPS, 5S, PDCA, and continuous improvement tools preferred.
Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
Proficiency in SAP, LDS, DiSS, Microsoft Office. (Candidates will be required to pass a digital acumen assessment as part of the interview process which will include SAP, Excel, LDS, etc.) Physical Requirements Standing, squatting, overhead reaching, pushing/pulling, and climbing ladders throughout shift.
Ability to lift 22 lbs repetitively or 26 lbs occasionally.
May operate PITs, forklifts, TSP, machine, overhead cranes, etc depending on department.
Flexibility with work hours to support production needs, including weekend overtime.
