What do you get to do in this position?
Ensure that Schneider-Electric’s Monterrey 1 complies with all applicable Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements (e.g., State, Federal, and Schneider-Electric) and maintains its outstanding EHS performance.
Manage the EHS professionals and ensure their development to deliver outstanding results Ensure the implementation of EHS policies, practices, guidelines, and procedures.
Identify location-specific requirements for each area and participate in developing related programs and policies.
Conduct environment, health, and safety risk assessments.
Attend internal and external EHS compliance audits and loss prevention audits.
Liaise with facilities maintenance and property management personnel to ensure appropriate fire and life safety controls are in place and maintained.
Key Responsibilities Reviews and incorporates health standards promulgated by regulatory authorities.
Ensure compliance with all corporate standards, programs, and requirements Provides necessary reports to Federal, State, and local agencies.
Directs audits of health and safety regulations.
Develops and provides environmental health and safety and security training to employees.
Assist in maintaining appropriate metrics, evaluate data trending, and provide data input to management reviews, with a view to continuous improvement and enhancement of EHS performance.
Promotes communication programs to enhance and encourage employee awareness of accident and fire prevention, industrial hygiene, and environmental compliance.
Supervise the incident/accident investigation process, including root cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Serve as the site contact point for government inquiries relating to EHS.
Oversee required permitting submissions for air, water, and land jurisdictional requirements.
Coordinate the completion of all corrective actions with site personnel resulting from risk assessments, compliance audits, or loss prevention audits.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environment, Health and Safety Management, engineering or equivalent
Experience: of 8 years in EHS and at least 3 years in an EHS leadership position.
Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of environment, health and safety guidelines and regulations; a good working knowledge of health and safety engineering, and a highly refined understanding of the issues related to manufacturing and development environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills required in both Spanish and English.
Must have the ability to communicate through all levels of the organization.
