Schneider Electric’s Modular Data Center business is growing rapidly, and we are seeking an Electrical and Controls Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for electrical power distribution design, controls system architecture, documentation, and technical integration.
This leader ensures engineering excellence, high‑quality deliverables, and consistent oversight through tendering, execution, factory build, testing, and closeout.
The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader who drives accountability, collaboration, standardization, and continuous improvement across engineering and cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop Electrical and Controls Engineers.
Establish clear ownership and ensure timely delivery of engineering commitments.
Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and training development.
Foster a transparent, collaborative, continuous‑learning team culture.
Technical Oversight & Engineering Excellence Oversee electrical power distribution (LV/MV), grounding, lighting, and major equipment integration.
Lead controls system architecture development, including Sequences of Operation, control panels, network needs, and communication strategies.
Own quality and compliance of all engineering documentation, including single‑line diagrams, multi‑wire diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, panel design docs, and controls architecture drawings.
Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, UL508A, UL2755, and relevant standards.
Lead DFMEA and structured risk‑analysis activities. KPI & Performance Management Define and track KPIs such as on‑time delivery, documentation quality, RFI response time, cycle time, defect reduction, and factory issue closure.
Present KPI insights to leadership and drive continuous improvement.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partner with factory teams for build, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
Provide timely support for RFIs and customer changes.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Mechanical Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commissioning teams.
Participate in customer meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions.
Continuous Improvement & Gap Closure Identify gaps in standards, tools, processes, skills, and documentation workflows.
Lead lessons‑learned reviews and implement improvements across engineering teams.
Standardize templates, methodologies, documentation formats, and verification tools.
Promote innovation while maintaining compliance with codes and internal processes.
Project Execution & Lifecycle Management Oversee engineering deliverables for tender, execution, factory build, and commissioning.
Manage resource allocation and scheduling across multiple projects.
Support site integration and commissioning (up to 15% travel).
Ensure revision control and documentation accuracy.
What qualifications would make you successful?
Required Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. 7+ years in electrical design, controls engineering, or industrial systems integration. 3+ years of engineering leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of NEC, UL508A, and electrical/controls standards.
Expertise in FMEA, structured problem solving, and KPI management.
Proficiency with schematics, wiring diagrams, Revit/BIM, and controls documentation.
Strong communication and cross‑functional leadership skills.
Preferred Data center electrical or controls experience.
Knowledge of UL2755, switchgear, UPS, relays, PLCs, sensors, and communication devices.
Experience: with Modbus, BACnet, TCP/IP, or DNP3.
Familiarity with ETAP, SKM, Revit, ACC, Windchill, or Bluebeam. PE or EIT certification.
