Overview The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data systems that support the organization’s data-driven decision-making.
This role collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to understand data requirements, define data architectures, and implement robust data pipelines that empower business intelligence, analytics, and data office initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Data Pipeline Development Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from a variety of internal and external sources.
Ensure pipelines are scalable, reusable, and aligned with best practices for data engineering.
Automate data ingestion and workflow orchestration using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
Data Quality & Reliability Implement rigorous data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring processes.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, completeness, and reliability of data across multiple systems and environments.
Collaborate with business and technical teams to address data anomalies and ensure high-quality data outputs.
System Optimization & Performance Optimize data systems and pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, performance bottlenecks, and system failures.
Continuously evaluate and enhance the data architecture to support evolving business requirements.
Required Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Atleast 3 - 5 years' of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or large-scale data system development.
Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python).
Experience: with ETL tools, data orchestration platforms, and cloud services (Alteryx, AWS, Azure).
Strong understanding of database systems, data modeling, and data architecture concepts.
Preferred Familiarity with data governance, and metadata management.
Background working with BI teams, data analysts, or data engineers.
Key Competencies Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
High attention to detail, especially regarding data accuracy and system reliability.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
