Schneider Electric USA, Inc. seeks an MCB Project Engineer in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Job Description: Engineer projects to support Miniature Circuit Breakers portfolio. Lead product changes such as new material selection, design optimization, production line transfers, change of suppliers for different component's categories as sheet metal, molded plastics, packaging, stamped parts. Conduct mechanical and electric performance test plans for verification and validation purposes per design guidelines and codes and standards. Obtain diverse offer marketing requirements and translate those into engineering requirements. Apply methodical problem-solving techniques and tools to solve problems. Understand, oversee and participate on the development or maintenance of definition files. Understand project evolution process and offer creation process. 25% travel (20% international, 5% domestic) to US and Mexico manufacturing sites to support project execution.

Requirements: Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, and 5 years of experience (can include pre-Bachelor's or internship experience) in electrical manufacturing quality engineering, or related occupation, which must include at least some experience in the following skills: CAD software, and data management (CREO, Windchill); Application, design and production failure mode effect analysis; Identify product and component CTQs based on product performance and regulatory compliance (UL/CSA standards); Systems engineering accounting for offer development and product lifecycle, including design, production, and qualification of products; Defining CTQs on control specification for parts and further incoming inspection; Developing circuit breakers using product development processes, testing and evaluation methods, and codes and standards; Applying problem solving techniques thru Core Tools (5 whys, Fishbone Diagram) and data analysis (statistical analysis); Manufacturing processes for different technologies (thermoset, thermoplastic, copper, aluminum, steel) and assembly processes; and Working with electrical safety products.
