For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $96,000 - $144,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees, inclusive of medical (with member reward points), dental, vision, and basic life insurance, Benefit Bucks (credits to apply towards your benefits) flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, 401(k) + match, well-being and recognition (including service anniversary) programs, 12 holidays per year, 15 days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date), opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date), and military leave benefits.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for planning, leading, defining, developing, reviewing, and auditing strategic activities for continuous improvement initiatives while following and helping established standards across the company.

This position reports to the Factory Quality Manager and works very closely with the operations teams and across the business as well as with CI Managers and CI Subject matter experts in other schneider locations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the Process/Continuous improvement within the unit.
  • Baseline current processes, work with teams to identify near-term and long-term targets and manage projects that contribute to alignment with the Schneider Performance System (SPS) five principles: People Commitment, Quality at the source, Standardization, Just in Time, and Continuous Performance Improvement.
  • Manages and oversees continuous improvement activities, and projects through defined phases while adhering to establish time-lines.
  • Goes to the Gemba (place the value is created) as source of truth.
  • Support problem solving activities helping team push to the root cause relentlessly.
  • Keys in on ways to help the business collect and communicate with data.
  • Manages cross functional teams, implements operational technique, and performs activities aimed both at monitoring a process and at eliminating causes of dissatisfaction.
  • Collaborates with teams to develop and track metrics related to improvement activities; and promotes standard processes, improved flow, waste elimination, and support management for daily improvement activities.
  • Provides strategic leadership to production personnel and assures that facility improvement initiatives support corporate strategy and goals. Prioritizing enhancement of the whole business as a system, not one area at the detriment to another.
  • Facilitates training and development in lean manufacturing techniques, working directly with the business leadership teams assess, prioritize, and implement continuous improvement activities.
  • Conducts routine reviews and reports on overall continuous activities including accomplishments, participation, project activities, and anticipated needs of all continuous improvement activities, summarizing and reporting results for appropriate management as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Managed Continuous Improvement projects
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred, but similar environments (like health care) considered.
  • Training and experience in lean and six sigma concepts (5S, Visual management, Kaizen, Standard work, TWI, DOE, Pull systems/Kanban, PDCA, DMAIC, etc).
  • Has demonstrated formal problem-solving skills (A3, 8D, 5Why, Fishbone, FTA, etc) preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Must be able to influence without having direct management responsibilities.

Physical Requirements/Abilities (If necessary)

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Travel is required on some occasions about 10%.
