What You’ll Build
The SAP Internship Experience Program is SAP’s global, strategic, paid internship program that provides university students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers. This is more than an internship; it’s the foundation for a career built on connection, creativity, and impact.

Role Overview
This internship sits at the intersection of Agentic AI, enterprise data engineering, and business transformation.
The Agentic AI & Data Products Intern will design, prototype, and evaluate AI-driven systems that leverage SAP Business Network and related enterprise data to automate workflows, enhance executive insights, and accelerate AI adoption across the Supply Chain Management Analytics team.
This is not a traditional data science internship.
This role focuses on:
Enterprise AI experimentation:
LLM orchestration
Intelligent data pipelines
Measurable business impact
The intern will contribute directly to Next Gen AI initiatives within SAP Business Network and support the development of scalable AI-enabled data products.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise AI Experimentation
Design and execute structured AI experiment pipelines to validate enterprise use cases
Formulate hypotheses around AI-driven automation and decision support
Define evaluation metrics (accuracy, hallucination rate, business KPI impact, cost efficiency)
Document findings and present insights to technical and business stakeholders
Agentic AI System Development
Prototype LLM-powered agents that automate analytics workflows
Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using SAP and non-SAP data
Integrate APIs and structured enterprise datasets into multi-step AI workflows
Evaluate different models and prompt strategies for enterprise reliability
AI Data Productization
Help convert AI prototypes into reusable, scalable data products
Design AI-ready data models and structured outputs
Support development of metadata-driven and automation-first analytics solutions
Business Transformation Enablement
Partner with business stakeholders to identify high-impact AI use cases
Quantify AI-driven productivity and efficiency improvements
Support Next Gen data visibility and migration initiatives through intelligent automation
Translate technical findings into executive-ready summaries
Qualifications
Currently enrolled (or recent graduate within 6 Months) in an academic program (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field
Strong Python and SQL skills:
Experience working with APIs and structured data
Familiarity with LLMs, embeddings, or machine learning workflows preferred
Understanding of experimentation concepts (A/B testing, evaluation metrics)
Ability to think both technically and strategically
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)
Experience with AI frameworks (Lang Chain, orchestration tools, model APIs)
Exposure to enterprise data environments (SAP, HANA, Datasphere, CRM systems)
Experience building small automation tools or agents
Interest in AI governance, explainability, or AI performance evaluation

Evaluate model performance using technical and business metrics

SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 0 - 0(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
