Machine learning lies in the core of the advertising industry. This is no exception to Samsung Ads. At Samsung Ads, the Platform Intelligence (PI) team is actively exploring the latest deep learning and generative AI techniques to improve our existing systems and products and create new revenue streams. Our mission is to represent Samsung's leadership in large-scale machine learning products by collaborating with the best and brightest and creating a collaborative environment between industry and academia. As a deep learning intern, you will have access to unique Samsung proprietary data to develop and deploy a wide spectrum of large-scale machine learning products with real-world impact. You will prototype, implement, and launch cutting-edge modeling techniques -- including transformer architectures, large-scale sequence models, and high-throughput training pipelines -- to power the next wave of ads relevance, ranking, and conversion optimization. You will work closely with and be supported by a talented engineering team and top-notch researchers to work on exciting machine learning projects and state-of-the-art technologies. You will be welcomed by a unique learning culture and creative work atmosphere. Publications and patents are expected as outputs of an internship.

Role and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Explore cutting-edge machine learning technologies for our products

  • Design and develop deep learning algorithms and models for real-world products

  • Explore and incubate next-generation ML model structures for all performance ads solutions

  • Closely work with the machine learning engineering team to deploy new models to generate real-world impact

  • Create quick prototypes and proof-of-concepts for future product features

  • Design experiments, perform evaluations, and apply enhancements to our products

  • Publish research results in top venues and file patents

Experience Requirements:

  • PhD students in Computer Science or relevant fields

  • Solid theoretical background in machine learning and/or data mining

  • Hands-on experience with machine and deep learning algorithms and models

  • Thorough understanding of state-of-the-art LLM/Diffusion models

  • Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and machine learning libraries (e.g., Tensor Flow, Keras, etc.)

  • Strong programming skills with Python

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Publications in relevant top venues (e.g., KDD, NIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI, ICDM, ACL, etc.)
