About Samsung Austin Semiconductor
Samsung is a world leader in advanced semiconductor technology, founded on the belief that the pursuit of excellence creates a better world. At Samsung Austin Semiconductor, we are Innovating Today to Power the Devices of Tomorrow.

Come innovate with us!Position Summary

As a Samsung Austin Semiconductor professional within our diverse and dynamic Data Intelligence department, you will architect, deploy, and manage the overarching strategy for multiple platforms across diverse clusters. This high-impact role requires close collaboration with international counterparts to align global infrastructure standards while leading the development of critical environments. You will be a strategic lead for our internally hosted platforms, driving the evolution of our CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes-based hosting to ensure maximum scalability and performance. This is a pivotal time to join the team as we expand our Texas footprint with the new, state-of-the-art Taylor campus, offering you a unique opportunity to shape the architectural foundation of one of the world's most advanced semiconductor manufacturing hubs.

Operating within a strictly air-gapped in-house environment, you must possess the expertise to troubleshoot and optimize the entire stack—from the application and container layers down to Linux and physical infrastructure without relying on managed cloud services. We are seeking a strategic problem-solver who can balance high-level architectural planning with deep technical execution, including writing custom automation tools and managing large-scale containerized applications. As a key member of Data Intelligence, you will work across functional boundaries and respond to complex system incidents to maintain seamless operations in a high-stakes manufacturing environment.

Role and Responsibilities Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters in both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Develop and implement Kubernetes best practices for managing containerized applications.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to automate the deployment and scaling of applications using Kubernetes.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Work with developers to optimize application performance in Kubernetes environments.
  • Implement security measures and best practices to protect Kubernetes infrastructure and applications.
  • Conduct regular performance testing and capacity planning to ensure scalability of Kubernetes infrastructure.

Skills and Qualifications Here's what you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Solid experience in designing, deploying, and managing Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of containerization concepts and technologies (Docker, container runtimes, etc.).
  • Proficiency in deploying and managing applications using Kubernetes manifests and Helm charts.
  • Experience with Kubernetes offerings.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and experience configuring Kubernetes networking (Service Mesh, Load Balancers, Ingress Controllers, etc.).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.) for building and deploying containerized applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in Kubernetes environments.
