About the Role

We are looking for talented Software Engineering Managers who are technically strong, energetic, highly collaborative, and passionate leaders to lead our software engineering teams and who would like to be part of our mission. As an engineering leader, your key focus will be to develop the team and drive them to success to ensure high quality releases on-time and every-time. This includes customer defect fixes, upgrades, feature delivery, shaping and executing on our product vision. You are as enthusiastic about recruiting and building a team as you are about challenging technical problems that your team will solve. You'll be challenged to blend customer-centric principles, industry-changing innovation, and the reliable delivery of new technologies.

We work in a collaborative environment, and we value open communication and feedback, code reviews, and making learning fun! This role is cross-functional and will require close collaboration with internal and external partners including Product Management, User experience, go-to-market, sales, and customer success teams to create experiences that reinforce the Salesforce brand and delight our customers with highly reliable services. Senior Engineering Managers will drive execution for their product set with AI, automation and rich experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the execution and delivery of features and changes by collaborating with many multi-functional teams, architects, product owners and engineers
  • Make critical decisions that attribute to the success of the product
  • Proactive in foreseeing issues and resolving it before it happens
  • Daily management of stand-ups as the Scrum Master for engineering teams
  • Partner with PO to align with objectives, priorities, tradeoffs, and risks
  • Ensure teams have clear priorities and adequate resources
  • Provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members
  • Participate in architecture discussions, multi-functional coordination, planning, and reviews with leads from other engineering teams
  • Proactively identify reliability & data quality problems and drive triaging and remediation processes
  • Recruit, Build and lead a team of engineers to deliver reliable, scalable and secure monitoring and analytic services for various business needs
  • Invest in continuous employee development by mentoring and coaching engineers and technical leads
  • Maintain high morale and motivate the delivery team to go above and beyond
  • Be a multiplier and have a passion for team and team members' success

Qualifications

  • B.S/M.S. in Computer Sciences or equivalent field, with 15+ years of relevant experience in software development
  • 8+ years of experience managing teams and leading software engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience in developing enterprise-level SaaS products and deploying services on public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)
  • Experience leading large scale distributed systems, working with microservices, container orchestration and/or distributed architecture
  • Expertise in data processing, data transformation and analytical technologies
  • Proficiency in at least two of the following: C++, Java, Python, C#
  • Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and non-relational databases
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and software engineering best practices including coding standards, SCM, CI, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience in high-level business discussions
