About The Role
As the Senior Director, Product Management, you will lead a team of Product Managers and UX designers to drive the vision, strategy, and execution for our messaging platform. You will be responsible for creating a world-class marketing experience for Salesforce's marketing teams, prospects, and customers. This role reports to the VP and GM of Digital's Messaging platform. You will define and deliver the product roadmap, leveraging our Marketing Cloud Next product to build next-generation features and facilitate our transition to an "agentic" world. A key part of your role will be to collaborate with the core Product Management team to prioritize and integrate new capabilities, while identifying feature gaps to ensure a seamless experience. You will manage and develop top talent within your team, setting clear KPIs, measuring success, and inspiring our engineering teams to transform how marketers work. You should have deep experience in messaging platforms, particularly email. A strong understanding of the latest AI trends, as well as compliance, is essential. The ideal candidate is a fast learner who thrives in a dynamic environment, is passionate about innovation, and is not afraid to push the boundaries of what's possible in marketing. This is a critical role for one of Salesforce's most business-critical products.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the transformation of Salesforce's messaging towards the next generation 'Salesforce on Salesforce' platform, resulting in exceptional customer experiences while improving Salesforce's marketing KPIs.
- Assess the market, platforms, industry trends, and customer needs across the marketing landscape to identify trends and opportunities
- Collaborate heavily with your Engineering counterpart to engineers, whether they are building or supporting clients, backend services, libraries, data pipelines, machine learning models, and so on
- Align executive management and other critical stakeholders to the vision and strategy, and work cross-functionally to put together a viable plan and roadmap.
- Working with the VP+GM, Messaging Platform, build the product vision, strategy, and roadmap - and execute on it.
- Define, implement, and ensure adoption of Product Management process aligned with common and proven practices followed by successful Product Management organizations.
- Partner with the Enablement/Success team to deploy the product.
- Influence and evangelize the vision to a wide variety of key partners and stakeholders
- Manage and maintain a high-performing Product team, including performance management, talent development, and recruitment.
- Provide regular updates to leadership, escalating items when needed but with presence and relationships to identify and resolve most issues independently
- Foster and facilitate timely decision-making across a broad network of stakeholders, delivery partners, and operational teams.
- Collaborate with security, architecture, engineering, quality, support, experience, program, and infrastructure partners in coordinating delivery of complex, multi-year initiatives
Required Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in product management, with demonstrated experience leading teams and building vision, strategy, and roadmaps and leading teams to successfully deliver on it.
- Deep experience in delivering enterprise products/applications, with an emphasis on email and other digital channels, at high scale and complexity.
- Clear understanding of the marketing workflow from creative brief through campaign execution
- Expertise with machine learning models, large language models, computational thinking. Knowledge of Agentforce, Data Cloud and Prompt Builder is a plus.
- Expertise in Salesforce solutions, especially Marketing Cloud, is highly desirable
- Strives for clarity and simplicity - adept at turning chaos into order.
- First hand experience with agile/scrum development methodologies
- Able to put his/her hands-on experience to use and work as an individual contributor (when required)
- Communicate with business as well as technical audiences. Able to write clear and concise documentation, excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Impressive presentation skills and experience communicating and convincing audiences from analysts to C-suite
Other:
- Travel requirements: less than 15%.
- The position requires a flexible work schedule to accommodate east coast, and occasionally UK time zones.

The typical base salary range for this position is $209,700 - $351,800 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $251,900 - $384,100 annually.
The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
