Job Description:

As Rockwell's Senior Field Service Technician, you provide services to support the on-site installation, start-up, maintenance, and operation of automation control systems & advanced manufacturing software applications, drive systems, power systems, manufacturing systems, industrial networks and the individual products which comprise these systems. If you are not at a customer's site, you can work from your home office or regional sales office. Regional travel is required, up to 50%. You report to the Territory Services Manager and located in Southern California.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer support through the performance of installation, as well as overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of Rockwell equipment and systems.
  • Program PLCs and HMIs systems for new or modified equipment utilizing RSLogix 5, 500, 5000, Factory Talk Studio software, Studio5000, Control Logix and Compact Logix. Program and commission AC and DC drive on web handling systems.
  • Maintain automation and equipment including working with voltages up to 600VAC and 800 VDC.
  • Troubleshoot problems, identify, and implement new or amended system functionality, identify operational process gaps, and take corrective actions.
  • Execute initiatives supporting our automation strategy, manage operating workflows and progress continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and write documentation as required (validation project plans, standard operating procedures, qualification summary reports, system audits, technical reports, traceability matrix, etc.).

The Essentials

You Will Have:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • A valid drivers license.

The Preferred

You Might Also Have:

  • 6+ years of related experience in Low or Medium Voltage Drives, HMIs, Small and Large controllers
  • Experience working with sales and business leads to identify new contract opportunities and ensuring customer satisfaction of service offerings.
  • Experience with networks including Ether Net, Control Net, and Device Net

  • The base salary compensation range for this role is $79,000-$118,000 with an annual target bonus of 4% of base salary.
