Job Description:

Summary:

Rockwell Automation is looking for a senior Simulation Engineer to join our new product development team. You will use computational tools to advance our understanding of the thermal behavior of our products and systems. This role will provide thermal simulation of industrial electronics modules and systems to support existing products, new product development, and research and development projects. These products include Programmable Logic Controllers, I/O Products, Communication, HMI, and Industrial PC devices. The environment fosters a collaborative and innovative approach to working with teams across the globe. It is dynamic and requires a highly motivated individual with a passion for product development. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop technically and take on increased scope and responsibility. You will report to Engineering Manager and will be based in Bangalore working in hybrid work schedule.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide thermal analysis of natural convection, forced convection, and enhanced conduction (heat pipes/vapor chambers) to understand, verify, and optimize design problems of varying scales, from printed circuit board, to module, to systems of modules.
  • Work with design engineers to understand technical challenges and create a plan for how simulation can accelerate design knowledge.
  • Identify or develop new computational techniques.
  • Provide clearly written technical reports.
  • Work closely with development and test engineers in the designing of and consuming data from experiments for model validation.
  • Work with teams leading the growth of corporate wide simulation first culture.

The Essentials

You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in simulation or master's degree with focus on simulation, minimum.
  • Experience in ANSYS/ICEPAK – Simulation tools.
  • Strong engineering and analysis fundamentals.
  • Experience with thermal problem solving
  • Experience working with packaged electronics
  • Designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and packaging. Conducts feasibility studies and testing new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.

The Preferred

You Might Also Have:

  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma tools
  • Experience with Jira and other Agile tools
  • Two years' experience using PTC Creo or equivalent CAD software package
  • Two years’ experience with Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) systems, preferably SAP .
