Job Description:

Job Summary

Under general supervision the Application Engineer provides all analysis, coordination and control for the processing of engineered motor control center and intelligent power package orders. This includes analyzing order specifications, drawings, resolving and documenting exceptions and questions, conducting technical clarifications, manage sub vendors, instructing and coordinating mechanical and electrical work, generating of bills of material, coordinating activities during manufacturing, assembly, and test, and making changes and revisions. Support project manager on the the commercial aspects of the order, change order recognition, risk assessment, lead time control, quality control, etc. Provide technical and engineering support to Rockwell Automation Field Sales Offices for the deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

•  The Application Engineer will review customer specifications and drawings (one-lines, elevations and schematics), for correctness and completeness and resolve discrepancies.
•  The Application Engineer is responsible for preparing a complete bill of material ABOM & FBOM, which satisfies the order requirements
•  Develop the necessary electrical schematics and instruction for drafting
•  Provide technical assistance to internal/external customers
•  Responsible for verifying that the Customer’s purchase order, and feedback to Project Manager
•  If customer approvals are required, the Application Engineer will arrange to have the appropriate drawings made available to the customer for review and approval
•  Provide assistance to the manufacturing operation as required.  This includes the following: Technical assistance to the assembly and test personnel at factory. Meet with customer engineering personnel for final inspection or witness test
•  Provide the customer with the required documentation package
•  Provide field assistance whenever required to ensure customer satisfaction
•  Provide assistance and coordination with Expeditor and Manager or Supervisor
•  Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws.  Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network
•  Support project Manager on order transfer from commercial engineer or sales. Assist Project Manager to handle kick off meeting with related department according to project schedule. Work with Project Manager to make sure the project delivery will match margin, delivery date and quality requirement compare with as sold proposal or order.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE:

(Education, qualifications and experience requirements an employee must have)

•  B.S. Electrical Engineering Degree or related degree.
•  At least 5 years’ experience on electrical engineering design
•  Be familiar with electrical package such as switchgear/transformer/UPS/drive/etc.
•  E-house design experience is plus
•  Lead engineer experience is plus
•  Automation control, PLC programming and network is plus
•  MCC design experience is plus
•  MCC manufacture is plus
•  Project management experience is plus
