Job Description:

As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide customer support and engineering services through small projects, on-site installations, troubleshooting, service, and equipment repair. You will work with our customers to maintain efficient and productive manufacturing systems.

We are looking for someone with vision, creativity, technical engineering expertise, and a willingness to travel. You can ensure that all parts of a system work together to perform the desired application. We are looking for ownership of complete systems or solutions, including Rockwell Automation (RA), third-party, and user components—not just individual parts. You will also increase the application of the full RA product portfolio to meet customer needs.

Your Responsibilities:

Perform field service work, including:

• Engineering assistance (application, programming specifications)
• Installation, startup, integration, system optimization, maintenance, and warranty implementation
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on-site
• Provide technical assistance and coordination of RA products and systems:
• On-site analysis and specification preparation
• Hardware configuration and system/product application
• Programming support
• Project coordination between customers, OEMs, sales, and product divisions
• Technical support for field start-up, integration, and maintenance
• Documentation and reporting

The Essentials

You Will Have:

• University degree in Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent) or trade qualification with additional tertiary education
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence
• Engineering and field experience
• The ability to deliver technical presentations to all partners
• Background in automation
• Understanding of PLC systems and networking

The Preferred

You Might Also Have:

• Experience as a Control Specialist or Power Specialist
• Experience working with sales teams and customers
• Strong collaboration skills
• Mature, enthusiastic, team-oriented, and customer-focused
• On-site experience in the Mining or Oil & Gas sectors
• VCAT2 or higher qualification
• Experience with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
• Experience with Factory Talk software packages
• Detailed knowledge of OT networks and switch configuration
• A Grade Electrical Licence
