We are looking for an experienced Staff Web Engineer to join our team. We seek creative collaborators who evolve, adapt to change and thrive in a fast-paced growth environment.

This individual will be helping solve challenges on Robinhood Legend, a web first, high-performance and world-class trading product centered on the web.

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA office(s), with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do

  • Work closely with our trading, operations, design and product management teams to design and develop mission-critical web-based solutions to create efficiencies and scale within the trading ecosystem

  • Navigate ambiguity across requirements and workflows to define engineering tasks and deliverables

  • Design frameworks and tools that empower other engineers across teams

  • Provide accountability and leadership across trading products and engineering fronts

  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers

  • Lead organization-wide collaboration for the team

What you bring

  • 8+ years of professional Software Development experience

  • Demonstrable experience as a Staff level developer with over 6 years of professional experience working with modern Web technologies

  • Skilled at writing and efficiently debugging JavaScript in Node and browser environments

  • A track record of successfully leading projects and delivering large scope technical projects at scale

  • Constantly setting a high standard for code quality, advocating for best practices in testing, and improving code review processes

  • Deeply understand broad engineering and product disciplines so that you can work effectively across functions and skill-sets

  • Experience with Typescript, React, Next.js, NodeJS

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC)$230,000—$270,000 USDZone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL)$203,000—$238,000 USDZone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL)$180,000—$211,000 USD
