Role Summary This position will be based in the Torrance, CA Rivian facility, which requires you to work on-site and will report to the Charging & Energy Lab Manager.
You will Fabricate special test equipment electronic test boxes and harnesses.
You will Support development and validation testing of high voltage automotive power electronic components.
You will Perform Functional acceptance testing of circuit board assemblies and power electronic units following defined test procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricate special test equipment, electronic test boxes and harnesses.
- Design and fabricate simple mechanical fixtures and jigs.
- Functional acceptance testing of circuit board assemblies and power electronic units following defined test procedures.
- Support development and validation testing of high voltage automotive power electronic components.
- Troubleshoot, root cause and document electronic assembly issues.
- Follow the assembly instruction from engineering to execute prototype builds and provide necessary feedbacks to improve the instruction to improve product build.
- Setup and utilize standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, power supplies and digital multimeters following engineering direction.
- Use instrumentation such as thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, pressure gauges, and flow meters.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safe practices.
Qualifications Technical degree in electronics preferred. 1-3 years of experience fabricating special test equipment for low/high voltage power electronics.
Experience: with operating hand and power tools.
Experience: with soldering, handling lab equipment & board re-work preferred.
Experience: with building electrical test boxes and harnesses from schematic. A strong understanding and experience in prototype and fabrication shop processes A strong understanding of use manufacturers' product data sheets.
Work with teams to support and/or lead engineering projects.
Work in a fast-paced development environment.
Willing to work flexible hours and passionate about getting jobs done.
Hands-on approach: Proactively identifies and fills in gaps where needed.

Salary: Range Torrance-Based Applicants: $37.42 - $46.77/hour (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).
