The Product Management, Publishing discipline partners closely with product and publishing leaders to bring forward analyses, recommendations, solutions, products, and strategies that address complex player experience and business issues to achieve the best outcomes for players that align to company goals. We work every day to make it better to be a player and are looking for a Director, Product Management, Publishing - R&D to join the game and publishing leadership team of an undisclosed game.

As a Director, Product Management, Publishing - R&D you will be an integral part of the game leadership team and the broader Games Publishing leadership team. You will partner closely with the game EP, and other leaders across games, publishing, entertainment, and esports to drive holistic strategic planning and lead cross-disciplinary teams to arrive at shared outcomes. You will specifically be tasked with building the publishing team for this game with the support of the Senior Director of Product Management, Publishing R&D and VP, Head of Global Publishing.

You must be comfortable operating in ambiguous spaces, driving clarity, and moving with a focused sense of urgency. You need to be a strategist, builder, and–most of all–a collaborator.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Executive Producer to bring clarity to holistic player and business outcomes as well as clear alignment around outcome priorities

  • Lead the development of the holistic experience for players out of games–inclusive of outcomes, investments, and priorities

  • Develop a deep understanding of player community; representing their needs in critical product decisions, GTM, and the holistic player experience

  • Partner with insights and regional publishing teams to develop a nuanced understanding of both global and local player needs

  • Advocate for the player community’s needs within broader portfolio conversations and strategy

  • Drive holistic publishing vision for the game ecosystem in alignment with player and business outcomes

  • Partner closely with publishing and game leadership to design and build an effective and impactful publishing team from the ground up

  • Manage Publishing the team health and effectiveness through the ebbs and flows of the development cycle leading to and after launch

  • Lead a cross functional and global publishing team

  • Drive identified Riot ecosystem programs for the game

  • Lead GTM planning and execution for PC/console title

  • Hold teams accountable on execution of cross-Riot programs in support of the game

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of publishing or product management experience, with a minimum 3+ years of experience in video games leading matrixed teams through new game development and into a successful launch

  • 5+ years of experience connecting with or building strategies for passionate gaming communities.

  • 5+ years of direct management experience

  • 3+ years of P&L ownership experience

  • Experience launching one or more global AAA titles on console and PC

  • Intimate knowledge of the global games landscape, current competition, innovations and trends, ever-evolving player expectations and how they impact our business

  • Well-versed in leading cross-disciplinary, global matrixed teams and able to influence stakeholders at all levels

  • Deep experience in building holistic product strategy across complex experiences

  • Experience leading or partnering with leaders on foundational strategic initiatives such as market/player definition, product positioning, and go-to-market planning

  • Experience leading teams towards a cohesive, audience-focused vision

  • Experience working on cultural brands that serve passionate audiences at a global scale

  • Understanding of cultural trends across entertainment, fan and youth culture

  • Experience across PC, mobile, and console platforms

  • Experience regularly interfacing with C-suite executives
