Riot Games was established in 2006 by entrepreneurial gamers who believe that player-focused game development can result in great games. In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends to critical and player acclaim. As the most played video game in the world, over 100 million play every month. Players form the foundation of our community and it’s for them that we continue to evolve and improve the League of Legends experience.
We’re looking for humble but ambitious, razor-sharp professionals who can teach us a thing or two. We promise to return the favor. Like us, you take play seriously; you’re passionate about games. We embrace those who see things differently, aren’t afraid to experiment, and who have a healthy disregard for constraints.
That's where you come in.
Join Riot Games as the Senior Manager of Production at our Shanghai studio and lead dynamic cross-functional teams to create exceptional experiences for players globally. In this role, you'll inspire collaboration and drive development to overcome challenges and deliver high-quality products directly to our players. Your expertise will guide the production of League of Legends: Wild Rift, ensuring sustainable practices that uphold team well-being and foster a culture of high performance and inclusivity.
Your work may involve travel to Los Angeles and Shenzhen China.
Responsibilities:
-
Define and exemplify production standards for Wild Rift at the Shanghai Studio, focusing on delivery excellence, adherence to Riot’s values, and team health.
-
Provide transparent updates on the production pipeline's status and health, identifying potential risks and coordinating stakeholder escalations.
-
Mentor and lead a production team capable of owning significant features for Wild Rift, incorporating strategic workforce planning and recruitment.
-
Develop and optimize work processes and communication channels for managing projects with remote teams in China and Riot’s Los Angeles office.
-
Facilitate collaboration and alignment on production schedules and priorities with Riot Los Angeles and our partners in China, ensuring accountability and timely delivery of commitments.
Required Qualifications:
-
Minimum of 8 years in game development, with comprehensive experience across various project phases and methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Lean, Waterfall).
-
6+ years of experience as a Producer, Product Manager, or Program Manager on medium to large teams
-
3+ years of direct people management experience
-
Strong analytical skills with a focus on systems-based thinking and root cause analysis.
-
Proficient negotiation abilities, combining patience and determination to manage complex intercultural, technological, and product challenges.
-
Effective change management skills across diverse teams and cultures.
-
Business-level fluency in English and Mandarin.
Desired Qualifications:
-
Genre affinity for games in the mobile free-to-play space, especially MOBAs
-
Ability to teach teammates to practically apply software development methodologies (Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban, etc) to game development.
Don’t forget to include a resume and cover letter. We receive a lot of applications, but we’ll notice a fun, well-written intro that shows us you take play seriously.
