As a Security Operations Manager, you will contribute to REI’s success in protecting our people, product, and profitability by managing a team responsible for executing routines and initiatives to support secure environments and protect the co-op’s profitability. You will manage and maintain the various physical security infrastructures that are essential components of the access control, intrusion alarm, and CCTV systems and their related policies. You’ll support building leadership through security incidents and crisis management preparations, along with real-time support and resolution. You’ll collaborate with key facility leaders to identify and co-develop solutions to mitigate inventory shrink. You’ll be accountable for ensuring routines are in place and being executed to identify, investigate and resolve theft and fraud activity and build strong relationships with law enforcement and community agencies.

This role is in person and based out of our Goodyear Distribution Center.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.
  • Support the implementation of company programs, procedures, methods and practices to promote REI key messages.
  • Ensure employees and contract workers adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
  • Oversee training and development of employees directly and indirectly managed and make effective staffing decisions.
  • Conduct and ensure the completion of team performance reviews.
  • Provide coaching, direction and leadership support to employees to achieve department, company and customer results.
  • Establish and maintain visibility within the department.
  • Monitor operational statistics, reports trends, variances and issues, and take appropriate action.
  • Create a strong, mutually supportive work spirit and culture where people can do their best.
  • Make effective organization and people decisions in a manner consistent with REI's values and ethics.
  • Deliver on commitments and holds others to same.
  • Champion the organization and advocates solutions in the overall Company's best interest.
  • Use business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in the security field with proven knowledge of physical security best practices to include, but not limited to utilization of physical security systems, management of security teams and incident management and workplace safety.
  • 2+ years supervising teams to achieve specific outcomes.
  • Experience in event security and emergency planning and response.
  • Experience overseeing security installations during construction projects.
  • Proficiency in a variety of security systems, applications, hardware and practices related to access control and video surveillance.
  • Working knowledge of physical security systems, principles and standards.
  • Experience conducting and supporting investigations.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with an emphasis on seamless, invisible security systems and excellent customer service.
  • Certification(s) (or ability to obtain them) in common security systems.
  • Strong project and vendor management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a security team of personnel, providing day-to-day oversight and guidance of their work and coordinate with their management if not done in-house.
  • Ability to travel beyond your base location/region up to 40% of the time to both in state and out of state locations.
  • Experience effectively managing vendors to achieve specific, timely outcomes.

Pay Range

$74,400.00 - $119,100.00 per year
