The Impact You’ll Make

As a Laboratory Technician at Recursion, you will play a vital role in enabling the smooth and efficient operation of our laboratory. By supporting compound handling and ensuring that supplies, equipment, and workspaces are consistently maintained, your work will directly support both manual and automated experimental workflows. Through close collaboration with scientists and laboratory management, you will help ensure that our highly automated laboratory environment operates reliably, safely, and at pace.

In this role, you will:

• Handle Compounds: Perform the receipt, weighing, and solubilisation of compounds in accordance with established procedures

• Manage Supplies and Consumables: Order, receive, store, and monitor laboratory consumables and reagents to maintain uninterrupted workflows

• Provide General Laboratory Support: Support day-to-day laboratory operations and respond to ad hoc requests from scientific teams

• Support Automated Workflows: Ensure automated platforms are supplied with appropriate consumables and materials and assist with routine checks

• Communicate Effectively: Work closely with internal teams and external suppliers, maintaining accurate records and documentation

• Maintain Laboratory Readiness: Ensure laboratory spaces are clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety requirements

The Team You’ll Join

You will be joining the Compound Management team, a collaborative group at the heart of our discovery engine. This team is responsible for the critical task of provisioning drug candidates and reagents for our R&D laboratories, working daily with state-of-the-art robotic platforms and laboratory automation.

The Experience You’ll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field

• Previous experience working as a laboratory technician or in a laboratory support role

• High attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests and timelines while maintaining high data quality standards

• A passion for working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and the ability to adapt to changing priorities

Working Location & Compensation:

This is a full-time onsite lab based position at our office located in Milton Park, Abingdon, UK. At Recursion, we believe that every employee should be compensated fairly. Based on the skill and level of experience required for this role, the estimated current annual base range for this role is £41,000 to £44,400. You will also be eligible for an annual bonus and equity compensation, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
