The Opportunity:

As part of the State and Local Indirect Tax team you are expected to lead the way as technology-enabled tax advisors who provide significance through digitization, automation, and increased efficiencies. As a Senior Associate you are to analyze complex problems, mentor others, and maintain rigorous standards. You are to focus on building client relationships and developing a deeper understanding of the business context, learning how to manage and inspire others while navigating increasingly complex situations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage engagements and confirm accurate documentation

• Leverage large data sets to build models and provide insights

• Provide benefits through digitization and automation of tax advisory services

• Analyze complex problems and develop practical solutions

• Mentor junior team members and review their work

• Build and maintain meaningful client connections

• Navigate ambiguity and adapt to changing requirements

• Uphold rigorous standards in tax advisory services

What You Must Have:

• Bachelor's Degree

• At least 2 years of experience

What Sets You Apart:

• Having prior excise tax experience preferred

• Experience working with industries potentially subject to excise tax preferred

• Understanding of indirect tax compliance procedures

• Experience interacting with state and federal regulatory agencies

• Experience as a tax technical professional

• Experience identifying and addressing client needs

• Understanding of the broad range of services offered by an international firm

• Experience working with large data sets

• Knowledge of tax specific software such as Avalara, Vertex, or One Source

• Familiarity with research software such as CCH, Westlaw, Factiva, BNA, etc.

• CPA or commitment to pass CPA exam before being promoted to Manager and thereafter obtain CPA or Active Member of the Bar.

The salary range for this position is: $77,000 - $214,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws. All hired individuals are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
