Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Solar Design Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of photovoltaic (PV) systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, hands-on design experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
Develop detailed photovoltaic (PV) system designs, including site layouts, elevation drawings, mounting and attachment details, and electrical schematics.
Prepare accurate and comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation.
Technical Support
Provide technical guidance and support to installation teams during installation, start-up, testing, commissioning, and performance monitoring.
Assist in troubleshooting design and performance-related issues.
Compliance & Standards
Ensure all designs comply with NEC, applicable local codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain adherence to best practices in solar engineering and construction.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with clients, contractors, and cross-functional internal teams to provide technical expertise and ensure smooth project execution.
Support effective project communication and coordination.
Optimization & Innovation
Perform energy production analysis and recommend design optimizations to maximize system performance and efficiency.
Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and regulatory changes within the solar and renewable energy industry.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Experience
1–5 years of relevant experience in solar engineering, PV system design, or related engineering roles.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD and PV design software such as PVSyst and Helioscope.
Strong understanding of photovoltaic systems, NEC requirements, and construction practices.
Soft Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Certifications (Preferred)
Relevant certifications in renewable energy or PV system design.
Other Requirements
Ability to prioritize tasks and execute effectively under high-pressure conditions.
