Who can apply?

Applicants must be completing a placement as part of a degree course at a UK University, either through Year in Industry/Industrial Placement or Gap Year.

Department Overview

• Regulatory Strategy is a dynamic department which proactively works with drug development and various functional lines to ensure Pfizer meets the requirements of Global Health Authorities.
• Working across all stages of the pharmaceutical product life cycle, Regulatory Strategists aim to secure regulatory approval in a compliant, creative, efficient and commercially viable manner by defining and executing asset-specific regulatory strategies.
• The Regulatory Strategy department leads dialogue with Global Health Authorities on behalf of Pfizer.
• Regulatory Strategy engages with different business functions and regions, offering unique insight to research & development and commercial aspects of the pharmaceutical industry.

What can I achieve and what will I be accountable for whilst completing a placement at Pfizer?

Global Regulatory Sciences supports a diverse portfolio of products spanning multiple therapeutic areas (Inflammation and Immunology, Internal medicine, Non-malignant haematology, Vaccines, Infectious Diseases and Global Brands). You will have the opportunity to develop and implement regulatory strategies for innovative medicinal products and to maintain Pfizer’s marketed products to the highest standards of quality, safety and efficacy, across different regions. Products can be at any stage in the pharmaceutical product life cycle (pre-approval or post-approval) and so you will have a unique overview of the company, seeing therapies from research stages, through clinical development and onto the market.

You will be a part of the day to day compilation of general regulatory project documents, clinical trial applications, regulatory dossiers and replies to regulatory questions received from health authorities. You will also contribute to global regulatory strategies and implementation plans, ensuring an aligned regional position is reached and agreed for assigned projects. You will monitor progress of regulatory plans whilst ensuring identified risks are addressed. Moreover, you will take a proactive role in maintaining systems, processes and procedures relating to regulatory strategy.

When can I start?

Placements will start 1st September 2026 and will run for 12 months. This start date is fixed due to the 2-week Induction and Onboarding programme that is run internally. If successful in your application, you will be expected to start on this date.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Type of person we are looking for, in relation to ‘Skills’, ‘Knowledge’ and ‘Motivation’:

• Completing placement as part of University Degree either through Year In Industry/Industrial Placement or Gap Year
• Adaptable – Desire to learn and a capacity to assimilate and act on new information quickly
• Analytical –Synthesize complex information and identify potential issues before they arise
• Integrity & Attention to Detail – Appreciate the core function of Regulatory Strategy and work to provide the best outcomes for patients.
• Problem-solving – Use innovative andstrategic thinking to develop novel solutions to challenges
• Project management – Ability to manage multiple activities and complete tasks on time.
• Proactive – Self-starter with the ability to work individually and as a team.
• Written & Oral Communication– Ability to convert complex data into succinct messages
• IT Expertise - Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programmes
