Position Summary:

To spearhead the strategic deployment of inventory across our growing network of internal Retail Truck Centers & external consignment partners. Using their deep, datacentric knowledge of the various local, regional and national trends which impact the Used Truck Market, to position our inventory at the right locations at the right time to capture the highest value in the least amount of time.

This will include a focus on continuously analyzing, interpreting, forecasting and reporting on current and historical sales trends, identifying the regional & seasonal variables affecting sales to uncover and take advantage of opportunities by accurately projecting future demand. Utilizing this data to take timely action to have the right inventory deployed at the correct locations in time to fill that demand. This will include accurately predicting which units have the highest probability of selling retail in to have the right equipment pre-prepped. This will require effective relationship-building, communication and collaboration with PTL Field AVPs, Corporate VPs, DMs, Directors and across various Remarketing teams.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Analyze fleet, sales, and market data for each current or prospective RTC & Consignment Partner location to identify sales trends. Reporting these to senior management. Will report-out to leadership on results related to inventory at all UTC’s.
  • Forecast upcoming fleet changes. Use self-generated data to strategize with the asset managers to recommend & effectively source the correct inventory for each UTC.
  • Manage critical relationships with AVPs, DMs, ADMs and other district staff. Use the Self-Generated reports and data to gain the confidence and buy-in necessary to garner the support needed.
  • Identify the most retail-centric units and work with the Asset Manager & local District/OSC to pre-prep them.
  • Manage relationships with consignment partners. Using the same data-centric process to identify and source equipment for them. Working with the District/OSC team to control prep costs and maximize profit.
  • Manage and support in managing projects to increase retail sales.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred. If no degree, equivalent work experience is required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience In a support type role such as administrative, coordination or customer service
  • Minimum 2 years of Data Analyst or Project Manager experience
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft products especially Excel, Outlook, Access & PowerPoint. Experience with web-based products is required.
  • Expertise in working with data.
  • Knowledge of Penske systems such as Fleet Net & Service Net at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Experience with Salesforce at an advanced level.
  • Create and generate reports from our systems, analyze the data and make inventory decisions based on this data.
  • Strong writing skills for email communications to field and corporate leadership.
  • Use existing and find new resources for understanding markets surrounding each UTC to aid in decision making.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
