We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Summary: This job establishes a cohesive product vision and strategy across the company, leading product strategy development with cross-functional teams. It balances innovative design with technical implementation while meeting regulatory requirements and customer needs. The focus is on enhancing customer experience, using metrics for product success, and standardizing analytics and market research for data-driven decisions. Responsibilities include ensuring product profitability, leading operational reviews, and collaborating with global partners to maximize efficiency in a dynamic environment.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Establish a shared vision across the company for one or more products, or a platform product enabling development & scalability, with a deliberate and cohesive strategy.

  • Leads product strategy development, and develops a clear, executable view of the product strategy with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Influences the architectural roadmap and balances innovative design and technical implementation, while balancing regulatory requirements, time-to-market, meeting customer needs and product profitability.

  • Champions the customer experience and prioritizes customer needs in product requirements and decision making.

  • Defines and uses metrics that inform the success of products including usability studies, research and market analysis.

  • Standardizes workstreams to include analytics, customer discovery, market research and competitive analysis to drive data-driven decision-making.

  • Responsible for product profitability, including budgetary decisions.

  • Leads operational mechanisms that drive execution and accountability including Product Reviews, Operating Reviews, and Business Reviews. Interfaces with senior leadership as needed.

  • Maximizes efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the standard.

Expected Qualifications:

  • 10+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 2 years of experience leading others

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications: Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver on the Venmo Credit product roadmap by following the stages of the product development lifecycle within the Consumer Financial Services business unit
  • Participate in business planning to inform decision making on key initiatives tied to the goals of the business
  • Participate in cross-functional capacities to influence the product roadmap and the prioritization of activities that deliver on financial targets and metrics
  • Be accountable for the Venmo Credit Card product team – which includes but not limited to, career development, team collaboration and performance assessments and driving employee satisfaction within their roles
  • Act as the end-to-end product leader to stakeholders and peers across Venmo and Pay Pal, effectively communicating product roadmaps, priorities and challenges
  • Work closely with the core stakeholders to deliver on the product roadmap by quarter and year
  • Stay informed about industry trends, product strategies and potential opportunities to help maintain Venmo’s leadership position in the market.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in creating, grooming and delivering on product roadmaps and strategies (including acquisition, engagement and retention based roadmaps), preferably within the financial services or fintech industry.
  • Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle and associated artifacts, deliverables and documented plans
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment and quantitative analytics
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Strong, effective communication and presentation skills
  • A passion for innovation and a customer-centric mindset

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

Primary Location | Pay Range: San Jose, California | ($218,000.00 - $323,950.00 Annually)

Additional Location(s) | Pay Range: Austin, Texas | ($198,000.00 - $294,250.00 Annually)

Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
