Overview

Are you a highly analytical, detail-oriented student passionate about uncovering compelling stories hidden within data? We're looking for a motivated Customer Insights & Analytics Summer Intern to join our team for an immersive 10 week project. This role is ideal for a rising senior who thrives on turning raw information into actionable business recommendations.

You will play a critical role in one of our key initiatives to deepen our understanding of our customers. Under the guidance of our team, you will dive into rich customer data sets to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, ultimately helping shape our future strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Data Collection & Aggregation: Assist in gathering, organizing, and cleaning data from various sources such as recorded customer calls, Voice of the Customer (VoC) surveys, and lost client databases.

  • Quantitative & Qualitative Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis of recorded customer calls, Voice of the Customer (VoC) surveys, and churn data to identify recurring themes, customer pain points, sentiment, and actionable opportunities for improvement and client retention.

  • Reporting & Visualization: Develop clear, concise, and visually compelling reports and dashboards (e.g., in Excel, PowerPoint, or a BI tool) that highlight key findings and insights.

  • Insight Generation: Synthesize complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for improving customer satisfaction, retention, or product development.

  • Presentation of Findings: Prepare and present your analysis and recommendations to relevant internal stakeholders

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and ensure your analysis aligns with strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Academic Standing: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, entering your senior year in Business Analytics, Marketing, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Analytical Acumen: Demonstrated strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. You love digging into data and finding the "why."
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Excellent Excel skills (required): Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data visualization, basic statistical functions.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills (required): Ability to create clear, professional, and compelling presentations.
  • Familiarity with Power BI (a plus): Experience in creating dashboards and reports.
  • Familiarity with SQL (a plus): Basic understanding of querying databases.
  • Experience with survey analysis tools (a plus): Qualtrics, Survey Monkey, etc.
  • Exposure to qualitative analysis techniques or tools (a plus): For theme extraction from text data.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into understandable narratives for a non-technical audience.
  • Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and reliability in all analyses and reports.
  • Proactive & Curious: Self-starter with intellectual curiosity, a strong desire to learn, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Passion for Customers: A genuine interest in understanding customer behavior and improving customer experience.

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the compensation for this position is $20/hr.
