Paramount is a global media and entertainment organization, renowned for its beloved brands worldwide. In Australia, we offer premium content on any screen, anytime, anywhere, through an enhanced viewing ecosystem.

At the heart of our Australian operations is 10 News, our news division that is experiencing continued growth in viewership, reflecting our commitment to delivering high-quality news content that resonates with audiences across Australia.

We now have an opportunity for a senior News Producer/Reporter in our PERTH newsroom. We are looking for a highly experienced person with at least 6+ years of experience in broadcast news.

Enough about us! What you’ll do as a Producer/Reporter at 10 News:

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of news coverage—investigating, producing, and delivering high-quality stories that matter. Reporting to the Executive Editor, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, working both independently and collaboratively to create impactful television news content.

Functions will also include:

  • Pitch, research, and produce original, high-quality news stories for broadcast.

  • Work under tight deadlines to deliver clear, accurate, and engaging TV news content.

  • Report live with confidence on breaking news events.

  • Take the lead on complex news stories, from concept to broadcast with minimal supervision.

  • Proactively source and line up stories, ensuring comprehensive and dynamic coverage.

  • Cover other newsroom roles as required.

  • Actively contribute to editorial decisions, finding stories that are relevant to our viewers

  • Manage time pressures and be able to meet multiple daily deadlines

What are we looking for in this role? What’s important?

  • Strong news judgment and a deep understanding of the TV news landscape.

  • Exceptional communication skills—both on-air and behind the scenes.

  • Ability to work under pressure and make quick, accurate editorial decisions.

  • Proven track record in television news reporting.

  • In-depth knowledge of local, national, and international current affairs.

  • Proficiency in non-linear editing systems, with experience in TV news production.

  • Flexibility to work across different shifts, including weekends, to meet newsroom demands.

  • Strong grasp of media law and its application in news reporting.

As our teams take a well deserved break over the festive season, applications are not being reviewed until after the New Year.

Paramount embraces differences and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds regardless of factors such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property or birth. These grounds also include age, nationality, marital status, disability, place of residence and sexual orientation.

We’re honoured to have been named on Diversity Council Australia’s annual list of Inclusive Employers in 2023-24 and 2024-25. This acknowledgement highlights our commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued and supported.

Paramount acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia's original storytellers and the first peoples of the lands where we create, broadcast and connect. We pay our respects to their timeless stories that continue to shape Country and culture.
