In This Role You’ll:
This is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining the technical integrity of Cloud and on-premises broadcast playout at a major Network Operations Center. Individual is to ensure that all broadcast and IT infrastructure technical areas and services are provided to the highest standards, and complete specific routine tasks as detailed by the supervisory staff.
Responsibilities Include:
· To provide technical support for all Broadcast Services related infrastructure, playout systems, cloud infrastructure, and streaming technology to ensure the highest possible levels of technical and operational continuity to the Paramount Global broadcast services and client networks by maintaining core infrastructure and system health, signal path integrity and signal quality throughout
· Ability to comprehend the latest generation of software defined video networks and associated protocols (Ex. SMPTE-2110, SMPTE-2022)
· Author well-written, thorough technical documentation
· Using a wide array of software and hardware tools to analyze network health and manage the flow of media streams in the baseband and IP domains
· Work cohesively with a team on assignment work and report back on progress
· Ensure completion of all administration and documentation pertaining to work carried out
· Escalate to Paramount Management during incidents or loss of services
· Liaise with the various Engineering teams to accept new documentation and training for recent deployments
· Perform configuration and troubleshooting of complex broadcast playout support systems, including, but not limited to baseband video/audio, encoding, multiplexing, and RF
· Conduct comprehensive configuration and diagnostic tasks for broadcast hardware, datacenter infrastructure, and networking devices.
· Strong organizational and planning skills with ability to manage multiple critical assignments
· Use of technical drawings and documents to conduct diagnostics while under stress to restore failed systems
· Work collaboratively with Paramount’s L1, L2, L3 teams for ticket escalations as well as to help develop documentation that supports these teams in addressing future incidents.
Basic Qualifications You Bring:
· Hands-on knowledge and practical experience with scripting and/or API development using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or equivalent, along with a Bachelor's degree in EE or CS or equivalent.
· At least one foundational IT certification required, including but not limited to AWS, CCNA, MCP, CompTIA A+/Network+, VMware Associate
· 2+ years of experience in Information Technology or Broadcast Media environment along with the ability to learn and exhibit engineering-level understanding of a variety of complex broadcast proprietary and IT infrastructure environments
Bonus Skills:
· Clear understanding of business impacted by Broadcast infrastructure
· Committed to completing tasks within designated timeframes while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonal skills
· Adaptable to working practices and current technology
· Knowledge of audio/video technologies preferred
· Knowledge of Data Center operations
· Knowledge of Live, Linear, VOD, Over-The-Top linear delivery or simulcast solutions
· Knowledge of project and product management tools and systems
· Previous Linux OS experience.
· Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol stack and OSI model
· Knowledge of virtual environments and cloud-based technology
· Willingness to learn specific support profiles, with an emphasis on broadcasting and transmission technologies

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Hiring Salary Range: $80,000.00 - 90,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
