Workforce Identity Cloud
Okta Workforce Identity Cloud (WIC) provides easy, secure access for your workforce so you can focus on other strategic priorities—like reducing costs, and doing more for your customers.
If you like to be challenged and have a passion for solving large-scale automation, testing, and tuning problems, we would love to hear from you. The ideal candidate is someone who exemplifies the ethics of, “If you have to do something more than once, automate it” and who can rapidly self-educate on new concepts and tools.
What You’ll Be Doing:
-
Lead migration of legacy applications and containerized services to scalable Kubernetes clusters across multiple environments, ensuring minimal disruption and future growth.
-
Design and optimize highly available, scalable Kubernetes clusters to meet business demands and improve performance and resiliency.
-
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Spinnaker, ArgoCD Jenkins, integrating with Kubernetes and Docker for automated deployments.
-
Automate Kubernetes infrastructure with tools like Helm, Kustomize, and Operators, creating self-healing workflows for continuous scaling and efficiency.
-
Enhance monitoring with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack, proactively identifying performance bottlenecks and system failures.
-
Implement and enforce Kubernetes security best practices, including secrets management and service mesh, ensuring compliance and scalability.
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Developers, Cloud Architects) to solve infrastructure challenges and refine processes for reliable services.
-
Mentor junior engineers in Kubernetes and modern infrastructure practices, sharing knowledge through code reviews and team sessions.
-
Participate in incident response, on-call rotations, troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements for infrastructure stability and performance.
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
-
Expert in core Kubernetes concepts like Pods, Deployments, Stateful Sets, and persistent storage (EBS, EFS, PV/PVC). Experience managing large-scale Kubernetes clusters.
-
Skilled in Docker, container orchestration, and using Helm, Kustomize, and Kubernetes Operators for app deployment.
-
Deep knowledge of Kubernetes networking, services, ingress controllers, network policies, and service meshes (Istio, Linkerd) for secure and efficient microservices.
-
Expertise in infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible for provisioning and scaling cloud resources, especially in AWS.
-
Extensive experience setting up and optimizing CI/CD pipelines (Spinnaker, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Jenkins) in Kubernetes environments for automated deployments and monitoring.
-
Strong experience implementing centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and Fluentd.
-
Knowledge of Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, network segmentation, and Pod Security Policies. Familiar with security tools like Aqua Security and Twistlock.
-
Hands-on experience with managing secrets in Kubernetes using Vault, Secrets Manager, or Kubernetes Secrets.
Experience & Qualifications:
-
5+ years of experience in migrating and architecting large-scale, mission-critical workloads to Kubernetes. Proven track record in cloud-native architecture, performance optimization, and scaling.
-
5+ years of experience working with AWS and cloud-native technologies, with a focus on Kubernetes and containerized applications. Deep understanding of the AWS ecosystem (EC2, EKS, ECS, S3, etc.).
-
3+ years of hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate and manage infrastructure provisioning and configuration at scale.
-
Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Go to automate tasks and integrate systems across cloud and Kubernetes environments.
-
Strong experience in incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. Experience in managing high availability architectures and minimizing downtime.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
-
Certifications (Preferred): CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator), CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer), or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer are highly desirable.
