Today, NVIDIA is tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing. An era in which our GPU acts as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world. Doing what’s never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world’s best talent. As an NVIDIAN, you’ll be immersed in a diverse, encouraging environment where everyone is inspired to do their best work. Come join the team and see how we can make a lasting impact on the world.
We are seeking a passionate and curious Software Engineer Intern to join our Neural Reconstruction (Nu Rec) team for Summer 2026. This internship is ideal for Master’s or PhD students who are eager to apply their research and technical skills to cutting-edge problems in neural reconstruction and 3D scene understanding. You’ll collaborate with research scientists and engineers to advance our Neural Reconstruction Engine and help bring emerging prototypes closer to real-world deployment.
What You Will Be Doing:
-
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to transform research prototypes into scalable systems.
-
Contribute to the development of algorithms and models for our neural reconstruction pipeline.
-
Explore and experiment with state-of-the-art (SOTA) neural reconstruction methods (e.g., 3DGS, NeRF, Gaussian Splatting).
-
Support model training, evaluation, and integration for real-world applications such as robotics and 3D scene analysis.
-
Build and maintain tools that assess and visualize model performance.
What We Need To See:
-
Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
-
Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
-
Familiarity with Deep Learning frameworks such as Py Torch or Tensor Flow. Fundamental understanding or prior experience in Neural Reconstruction techniques (e.g. 3DGS, NeRF).
-
Prior experience on 3DGS relighting or 3DGS object reconstruction.
-
Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities.
-
Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
-
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd:
-
Experience with robotics frameworks (e.g. ROS).
-
Research experience in 3D vision, reconstruction, or large-scale model training.
-
Exposure to CUDA programming or GPU acceleration.
You’ll work on challenging, open-ended problems alongside experienced engineers and researchers. This internship offers a unique opportunity to make an impact in neural reconstruction technology—critical for the future of spatial computing, robotics, and autonomous systems.
NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers. We have some of the most forward-thinking and hardworking people in the world working for us. If you're creative and autonomous, we want to hear from you!
