About the Role:

Ensure the sustainable Nubank's growth supporting the safety strategy and operational routines, through:

  • The best experience to the nubankers, so they can love the safety services just as much as we want our customers to love us (fanatically!);

  • Guarantee the global safety strategy is aligned to the best interest and safety trends of each country, adapting the global requirements to local legal requirements and operational demands of the safety services, monitoring indicators and giving constant feedback to the global leader, working closely to key stakeholders.

In order to achieve that, our International Safety Specialist is responsible for implementing safety programs, supporting employees and managing the vendors that provide the safety service in countries other than Brazil.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage safety programs specifically tailored to the needs of employees in other countries than Brazil.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related issues for the international workforce

  • Conduct regular safety risk assessments and coordinate preventive measures.

  • Guarantee compliance with local legislations and company policies.

  • Program Development: Implement safety programs in other countries than Brazil.

  • Employee Support: Provide guidance and support to employees on safety matters, including unsafe conditions and event reporting and workplace safety.

  • Collaboration: Work with the Global Safety Tech Lead and Global Health & Safety Leader to align local initiatives with global strategies

  • Collaborate with other members of the team to guarantee full support to employee's safety

  • Guarantee proper and timely qualification approval for third-parties performing their work within Nu's offices

  • Support third-party employees within Nu's offices to execute their jobs in a safe and responsible manner

  • Manages all international safety providers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other areas (with master in Occupational Safety- Nice to have)

  • Clear, succinct, and effective oral and written communication in both Spanish and English.

  • Ability to build and improve processes while balancing strict regulatory compliance and stakeholder expectations.

  • Proactive, autonomous professional who thrives on challenges, meets tight deadlines, and adapts to changing conditions.

  • Skilled at translating complex problems into actionable strategies, detailed reports, and effective action plans

  • Committed to integrity, handling sensitive data responsibly, and fostering a safe, ethical workplace culture

Location & Work Model

  • This position is based in Mexico City

  • Hybrid 2-3 times/week: Our hybrid work model brings us to the office at least twice a week, on strategic days designed to maximize team connection and collaboration.
