About the Role
The Communications Specialist position, based in Bogotá, plays a pivotal role in maintaining our culture and reputation. The successful candidate will manage complex communications projects and end-to-end event production for diverse audiences. They will have a proven track record in strategic internal communications, project management, and content development, alongside experience in media relations and brand launches. They must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:

Internal Strategic Communications (Core Focus): Developing and executing comprehensive internal communication strategies and campaigns that effectively foster Nu's culture, values, and priorities within the Colombia team.

Event management & development: Designing, planning, and executing high-impact events for both internal and external audiences. This includes everything from internal culture-building activities and All-Hands meetings to external PR events

Internal channel management: Managing internal communication channels, understanding the specificities of each, and ensuring they are used in a coordinated and complementary manner.

Content development: Crafting and delivering impactful content, including internal announcements, presentation materials, press releases, and media pitches that resonate with target audiences.

Stakeholder management: Collaborating with internal stakeholders—including Marketing, Product, and HR—to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and event execution
Qualifications
-
Solid experience with communications of public companies, ideally in the tech or financial sectors. Consumer technology as a plus.

Strategic thinking with the capability to create and execute integrated communications plans with agility and accountability.

Strong expertise in Internal Communications and event production, with the ability to structure strategies and logistics from the ground up.

Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and cultures.

Project management with the ability to develop and deliver different and simultaneous workstreams.

Previous experience in crisis management.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English.
