This is a union role within the local 261c.

Scope of Work

  • Fabricate, maintain, and install piping systems. Experience with steam and plumbing systems required.
  • Clean and maintain boilers
  • Troubleshoot steam, air and water systems
  • Read and interpret drawings and schematics to install and troubleshoot piping systems
  • Knowledge of sprinkler and deluge systems desirable
  • Flexible in accepting additional duties as assigned by supervision

  • Analyze data and make appropriate judgments and work effectively with Plant Management
  • Demonstrate high degree of mechanical aptitude and ability to respond appropriately in high stress situations
  • Support management strategies and plans
  • Promote safety and health
  • Understand business/production needs and expectations
  • Perform to the highest level of quality
  • Communicate effectively
  • Reference, support, and utilize appropriate GOPs and UOPs
  • Provide improvement suggestions where needed
  • Develop, implement, and maintain business processes in scope of responsibility
  • Improve quality by continuously improving products and services for our customers
  • Our customers are not only those to whom we sell products but also the end user of any product or service provided within the company

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED with 5 years of relevant experience (journeyman's preferred)
  • Must be able to pass onsite Pipefitter skills test prior to interviewing
  • Pipe and welding certification preferred with documentation showing all applicable experience and training with appropriate references
  • Essential reading skills required
  • Must be able to work all three shift schedules (seniority will dictate which shift)

Pay

The current pay rate for this position is $34.39. Since this is a union position, this rate is non-negotiable.
