Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an Engineer EHS - level 3 or 4 to join our team at our Elkton, Maryland location.
The Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

Using occupational hygiene concepts and best practices, evaluate and implement appropriate control measures for physical, chemical, radiation, noise, and other hazards.* Understand and maintain a thorough knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, and EPA regulations.* Review and author safety data sheets (SDS) to develop worker protection plans.* Develops, updates and conduct training for employees, such as new hire training.* Support safety efforts through completion of job safety analyses (JSA), building inspection, and other safety duties as required.* Support environmental programs and initiatives through efforts such as water sampling.* Interact with regulators (EPA, MDE, etc.) as needed.

Level of hire will depend upon demonstrated education, experience, and competency.Minimum Requirements - level 3:* Diploma plus 9 years of experience. Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience or a Masters degree and 3 years of experience are preferred.* Four years of experience with at least two years in a manufacturing environment or support role preferably in a technical operation, manufacturing, or engineering capacity. Or equivalent experience in a scientific/analytical setting.* Must have strong multitasking and problem solving abilities. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
