Northrop Grumman's Mission Enabling Products (MEP) organization designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.
We are currently seeking Manufacturing Technician 1* candidates for our San Diego location. This position is for *1st Shift.
The Manufacturing Technician 1 position performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations in layup and panel fabrication.
Primary Responsibilities:

Handling and managing fragile composite materials. Prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products
-
Experience with layup of uni-directional and weave pre-pregs
-
May report status/progress and interface with other employees and departments.

Tooling preparation and release application.
-
Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware.
-
Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness.

Execute to written instructions.
*Basic Qualifications: * -
A high school diploma and 0-2+ years' of composite lay up/ bonding experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience working in a composites/manufacturing environment (space/satellite structures, aerospace manufacturing environment)

Demonstrated Mechanical Ability.
-
Able to read, write and work to written instructions, blueprints, or shop drawings in English.
-
Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic.
-
Ability to work under limited supervision.
-

- Associate's degree or 2 year Technical degree and 3 years' minimum experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excels in a team environment.
- Ability to work under limited supervision.
- Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize.
- Experience or familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance issues.
- Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.

Primary Level Salary Range: $43,400.00 - $72,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
